I'm back on my feet toward healthy living

Posted by Sylvie M on January 13, 2012 at 4:15am 1 Comment

Hello Ladies (I guess men are not quite interested in such groups but prove me wrong if you want)

I'm so glad to announce that I'm back on my feet toward health for 2012.

I've worked with the Art of Healthy Living workshop from september to november during a rough time of my life and I have kickstarted my journey toward weightloss and a healthy exercise routine.

I've lost 13 pounds in three month (over a pound per week) and my belt is three notches shorter now, I…

I miss my ladies.

Hi ladies, I couldn't figure out were to write this so I'm putting it here for all to see. It's kind of quiet here on the website. I know I haven't been around. Life kind of kicked me in the head with cars and computers breaking down. I fell into my old patterns of depression and eating, and eating, and eating. Boy Edie was so right about the self sabotage!!!! The thing I feel the worst about is I stopped coming to the website. That's the one behavior I'd like to change first. I know life will… Continue

209 pounds

Posted by Kristen Mackey on September 8, 2011 at 8:02am 5 Comments

The Art of Healthy Living e-course started last week, and I have been putting off weighing and measuring myself. Well, I finally stepped on the scale this morning, and I weigh 209 pounds. I will do my measurements later today when a friend can measure me, but at least now I have a starting point.

This past week has been incredibly challenging and tiring for me. I realize I haven't been active in the forums, but I'm working on a schedule so I can have time to post at least once a day.…

really worried - my brother is in Chili - earthquake

Posted by Sylvie M on August 28, 2011 at 6:19am 2 Comments

I have no news from my brother still in chili where there has been a major earthquake yesterday. I'm more than worried, and have no way to check if he is fit or not. I try to believe than with no electricity he might be very well but not being able to keep in touch. I keep praying that he can send an e-mail soon.

We Seek - By Stephanie Gagos

We seek in refrigerators and cupboards

That which we cannot name

We long for grace, for peace, from the

endless tirades of the Voice, of the stories we tell ourselves, peace from that which we think is broken

We are women, longing for a loving connection

with…

Ourselves

We gather together to know we are not alone

We search for answers, sometimes quick and efficient ones

We want to give up at times

Too hard, I can’t, I’ve never…

We laugh, we cry, we want to scream,

To bolt any chance we get

and yet we don’t

Together, we stay, we listen, we pay attention, even though it would be easier not to

We bring our stories into the room, we bring our daughters, our mothers, our sons, our exes, our spouses, our friends…

We bring our shame, our sadness, our rage, our despair.

At home, we hope to disengage

Using the undeniable pleasure of a cupcake

And yet we know true hope is not in the cupcake.

True hope is in our connection with ourselves…in the truth that emerges from that connection,

It is in the embrace of all that is “broken”

In the love of our beloveds,

It is the surrender and release of the weight of our self loathing…

True hope is in the acceptance of the totality that is you, me and the Sacred.
